seul&SEUL offers no menu — only blind trust in Chef Johnny, Asia’s No.2 protégé. Diners are rewarded with surprise and delight complimented by dark, textured interior of felt, marble, and brass that sets the tone, while a bright terrace and cobalt-dipped washrooms offer striking contrast.

Complimenting a stellar fare with stellar surroundings we took it upon ourselves to create an ambiance that sought not to distract from the food; as such a muted palette of dark greys and blacks is softened with carpet clad walls and an undulating ceiling composed of 8000+ felt panels that seek to attune restaurant clatter and chatter.

The entry is not so muted as a riotous carpet clad wall is filtered by rhythm strips of foamed aluminum, and clashed with brass and veiled by translucent black curtains, once inside the maitre'd leads one past a sumptuous bar or grey marble, black ash timber, blackened steel and a bespoke light installation. A steak of brass and glass cuts a horizontal datum along the inside wall allowing guests a cropped view into a bustling kitchen.

An expansive terrace counters the dark interior with pale timber flooring and bleached rattan furniture. As further counterpoint the washroom offers a bright white interior with bulbous oval cubicles formed of vertically laid timber moldings that incongruously appear to have had their upper walls and ceiling dipped in a deep cobalt paint.
