Category: Exhibition Design
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Size: 250 sqm - M
Year: 2024

The installation was designed to display this year's Excellence Awards nominations. The nominated projects printed on the sheets of Tyvek span across the scaffolding bays and drips down creating a smooth catenary curve, sheltering an open social gathering space hosting the opening ceremony of the event.

Using DuPont's Tyvek and repurposing materials from the building industry, we created a beautiful temporary structure for the New Zealand Chinese Building Industry Association’s annual NZ International Building Expo & Summit 2024.

Our goal was to make the structure as light and sustainable as possible, using rented items that can be reused. We chose scaffolding as the framework for it’s convenience to assemble and disassemble, and adaptivity for repurpose and reusing for future construction projects. The Tyvek sheets will also be repurposed at the Christchurch event later this year. A special thank you to NZCBIA President, Mr. Frank Xu, for his support in making this project a reality.
