Platonic Fractal is an interactive light installation.
Situated in a major public thoroughfare in a busy underground station of Shenzhen Metro.

It transforms human movement into patterns and swirls across its 3D surfaces, blending sharp light animations on its front with soft diffusion on its rear petals. The flower-like modules, tessellated to form a larger fractal structure, can be endlessly repeated. Yet, animations crossing their boundaries unify the design, creating a cohesive whole. While static, it’s a crystalline sculpture; with interaction, it gains new meaning and dimension. Despite its delicate appearance, it’s crafted through heavy industrial processes like CNC molding and aluminum extrusion, masking its complex creation.
